Tree Swallow
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with 432-3216 mm
of annual precipitation and more than 3 land cover types. In somewhat
drier areas (218-432 mm annual precipitation), it occurred mostly in
hexagons with more than 5 land cover types, especially if they have a
May precipitation (hex. med.) of 14-39 mm or a May minimum
temperature (hex. max.) of -1 to 4 C. The logistic regression analysis
showed positive or negative association with ponderosa pine forest,
number of land cover types, topographic variation, May maximum
temperature (hex. min.), July minimum temperature (hex. max.), July
maximum temperature (hex. min.), and-to a lesser degree-Douglas-
fir - w. hemlock - red cedar forest, the extent of public land, April
minimum temperature (hex. med.), and June minimum temperature
(hex. max.).
